Most pictures you’re going to find on culinary websites, through cookbooks or magazines are made in professional studios or in restaurants, by a specialized photographer who works in collaboration with a food stylist and other people.

Well, just with that is dealing Sebastian, namely the creation of those pictures that trying to send as much as possible, not only a beautiful image but also the flavor sensation, the freshness of the food, how hot or cold is it, and so on. At first sight it may seem a simple job, well, in reality, it is not.

This type of photography involves hard work, and, besides patience and imagination, it’s needed adequate light, plenty and varied props, fresh ingredients, and, of course, adequate and quality equipment. For example, the light should come from back to create those beautiful highlights and/or from the side. The hard shadows must be filled with light. Focus must be in the first part of image, with a suitable DOF (deep of field). More about these kinds of details you will find on the blog. There are a lot of things to learn, even for the greatest food photographers, so be patient and try to learn step by step.

Also, for the bests results may be involved food stylists, assistants, and so on.
